Difficult: A pulmonary hematoma means that your friend has had internal bleeding, and the blood is pooling either in between the lobes of the lung or in between the lungs and the rib cage. Has a Guinea worm (Dracunculiasis) ever infiltrated a person's brain? If so, what kind of damage can it cause?
Often fatal: Cerebral infiltration by this organism is often fatal in a relatively short amount of time. Brain infection is unusual but can happen. Dracunculus medinensis doesn't have a universally recognized treatment that destroys it so prevention is the best form of defense. This parasitic infection may be the next human infirmity to be eradicated from the planet in the company of smallpox. ...Read more

Is it possible that past hard drug abuse damage the ova (egg cells) in a woman and cause mental retardation or birth defects?
I have been trying: To find information on this, but the information seems to be focusing on maternal use during pregnancy and not before. It is also heavily focused on alcohol and cigarettes, with results showing that the children of women who smoke or drink have decreased attention spans. I believe, however, that your hypothesis is indeed possible. Perhaps one of my colleagues has found some research on this. ...Read more

Is there a test that can show if i'm infected with chickenpox 2 days only after playing with an infected child? what is the name of the test plz.
No: There is no test to see if one is infected 2 days after exposure. Usually, if a person already had the vaccine or the chicken pox illness in the past, she won't develop chicken pox this time. If no prior history of getting the disease nor the vaccine, one can ask her primary care doctor if the vaccine can be given now. If one is immunosuppressed, her doctor may prescribe helpful medication. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Was told to see dr. Due to beta proyien levels being too high. Is this dangerous, and what could be the cause of this? I've survived cancer 2 times, i'm a 48yr old female. Don't drink, or smoke, and am not over weight, or out of shape.
I : I assume you meant to type beta protein. Beta amyloid proteins in the blood are often associated with a predisposition to familial alzheimers. The proteins per se do not cause alzheimers. You should consult with a neurologist who will possible suggest other testing and do baseline tests of memory and cognitive function. It is good that you do not drink or smoke and generally keep yourself in shape. This finding is not related to your cancer history. In itself the elevated protein is not dangerous but bears watching. Good luck to you. ...Read more
What else can it be apart from autism and hearing if a 2 year old's response to his name is poor and there is language delay.
Ped dev eval: Your child needs an evaluation by a developmental behavioral pediatrician or pediatric neurologist or speech language therapist.
