Causes of colitis: Inflammation (infection, ischemic, ibd) of large intestine = colitis. I've eaten a high fiber diet my whole life and now have Diverticulosis. I question the etiology of this disease. Does high fiber cause Diverticulosis?
Anecdotal study based on African tribes who had a high fiber diet and were w/o diverticular disease. There have been no scientific double blind long term studies.

Fruits/vegetable: In general all fruils and vegetables have fiber. Egg/meat/ fish donot. Prune/dates/mango/pineapple are good on fiber. Plantain has iron and fiber (green banana).
