Doubtful: Unless you have had an incision at that location for something in the past, it is extremely unlikely to be a hernia. More likely to be a muscle spasm (charlie horse) that you feel as a lump when the muscle is is spasm. See your primary care doctor for an exam if it persists. ...Read more

Hiatal hernia: Large hiatal hernia can cause your symptoms, and can be dangerous if left untreated, although the overall risk is low. Could be almost: Anything, from diverticulitis, kidney stones, cancer of colon, intermittent incarceration of your hernia. Impossible to tell without tests. You need to see a surgeon asap. ...Read more

Sounds like: it could be either a lipoma or a hernia. In either case your doctor should be able to examine you and make the correct diagnosis so that it can be properly treated especially since you are having pain with it. ...Read more
