Seborrhea: There are few reasons why you might have such a condition. Try using Shampoo containing Ketocanazole, as it helps in sorting few of these conditions. However, if the condition persists you might need to see your doctor or a skin specialist; you mentioned the word "Folliculitis" and this might be caused by infectious organisms.See 1 more doctor answer

I am having scalp folliculitis. It's is at a small area of head. I have heard that after the course of antibiotic, it does recur?
Topicals: Follicular does recur in people prone to it. You should have an antibiotic cream rx from you doctor as oral antibiotics only used for severe cases not responding to a topical treatment.
I am having scalp folliculitis. I would like to know how to prevent it? I have heard that after the course of antibiotic, it does recur? Is it true?
? oily hair: If your hair is on the oily side, wash it with shampoo rather than with soap as soap doesn't remove hair oils well. If the shampoo removes too much oil, use a mild conditioner after washing. You could also try an antidandruff shampoo. Visit a good hair salon for hair care advice.
Been dealing with scalp folliculitis on and off for years. Doxy used to work, now doesn't clear it fully. Tried mino and keflex-kept at bay. Help?
Antibiotic...: ...resistance. Antibiotics often stop working over time; in presence of the antibiotic, bacteria tend to become resistant to it. (Evolution at work!) But it is unlikely minocycline would help if doxy doesn't; these drugs are twins, usually with identical activity against the same bacteria. However, cephalexin is very different. See a doctor, preferably a dermatologist. Good luck!See 1 more doctor answer
Medicated shampoo: Typically I have patients try an over the counter medicated shampoo such as head and shoulders or Nizoral (ketoconazole) to start, but if that is not effective, I give them a prescription shampoo and sometimes a topical antibiotic to control this pesky condtion. There not a cure for folliculitis, but rather patients can control it with proper meds.

Needs Careful Care: Your question is hard to understand. But in general, if you have folliculitis in the scalp, you require frequent hair washing with a careful scrub of the scalp each time, use of topical antiseptic like Hibiclens and probably an oral antibiotic.Since this is a recurring problem, you'd best see a dermatologist. Also, think about what may be setting you up for this recurring problem. It's often obvious
See Your Physician: For bacterial folliculitis of the scalp, it is important to determine the organism responsible for the infection. After a culture and sensitivity is obtained, your physician will be able to prescribe the appropriate antibiotic. Since the hair follicle is deep, most patients require a systemic (oral) antibiotic for extensive scalp folliculitis.
My dermatologist prescribed deflazacort for scalp folliculitis for 6 days. .......is it effective for it?
Abx vs steroids: Folliculitis, in general, is typically caused by bacteria proliferating into the hair follicles and causing redness, swelling, and sometimes pain. I personally would start with an antibiotic and if that did not help after 5-7 days then maybe try a steroid like your doctor did. Have to also consider that the infection may be caused by fungus or virus too. If the steroid makes it worse, it's likely fungal
Scale Folliculitis: For mild folliculitis, you can try an antibiotic ointment or cream such as bacitracin, Polymyxin B (polysporin), clindamycin, erythromycin, or Mupirocin (bactroban). You may also use an antiseptic cleanser, such as povidone-iodine (for example, betadine) or chlorhexidine. For severe cases, oral antibiotics will be needed.

How do I know if my scalp folliculitis is improving? I'm using medicated shampoo which reduces the itching but there's still pus and skin flaking.
Consult PCP: You may need both oral antibiotics and topical skin antibiotics. The shampoo was not not specified, but medicated shampoo is always helpful.
diangosis scalp folliculitis, it flares under stress. On 200mg minocin, (minocycline) tsal, clyndomyican. Been using this for 4 yrs. Hurts bad, how can I soothe burning?
Sore scalp: I wonder if the T/Sal - which is a topical salicyclic acid product is giving you side effects. It is known that some slight skin burning, redness, and peeling may occur with the product. In addition, you're on dual antibiotic therapy so I wonder if this is all 'too much'. Have you seen a dermatologist for best management? The key here also is the STRESS you mention -I would look for ways to reduce
