Can a ruptured hemorrhagic ovarian cyst cause blood in stool? Is this something that I should worry about? I was told the cyst would resolve itself.
No: This would be unlikely. Ovarian cysts are their own thing. One caveat, some women with severe endometriosis (uterine tissue that is not in the uterus but still cycles and bleeds each month) can have tissue in the rectum that bleeds too. Reduced loose stool: Mebendazole can cause abdominal symptoms. Also consider inflammatory disease-, colitis from Crohns/ulcerative colitis, ileitis or infectious( camphylobacter),rarely missed appy. Consider probioitcs,, stool culture ,abdominal CT . Did the U/S look at the ovaries? if not, would if all else negative.
