Chemical peels,: Laser resurfacing, and dermabrasion are all methods of removing a portion of the skin surface that stimulates healing, and development of collagen and elastic fibers (along with a new skin surface) that reduces (but does not remove) scars. If your skin is sensitive, the treatments designed to reduce acne scarring will need to be less severe (and will be less effective). Laser may be most precise. ...Read more

There : There are a few options when it comes to skin resurfacing for acne scar and pigmentation issues. Chemical peels and lasers are two options. Another option that works well for treating just portions of the face is dermabrasion. This produces more of a physical sanding of the skin. The idea with all 3 procedures is to remove the outer layer of skin cells. New skin then regrows into the area to create a smoother, more even pigmentation. ...Read more

Hard spot that was big but then went down on jawline but could feel a ball inside chemical peel made top come out and squeezed out hardish white ball?

I have vitiligo spot on my back and neck, it's only one spot it hasn't spread in years. I m getting chemical peel on face, would it affect myvitiligo?

Doubt vitiligo: A single depigmented spot is unlikely to be true autoimmune vitiligo. But before you get that peel -- why do you want it? -- I'd get with a dermatologist. You know that the koebner phenomenon can make vitiligo flare as a result of mild injury. Best wishes. ...Read more

Will a full body chemical peel help me achieve lighter skin? At least 3 shades lighter? I am a medium brown at the moment.

Don't do it!: Please don't try to change that color that Mother Nature gave you for your skin. Both the men who may be courting you and the women who are your friends will be unhappy about this. Even if you come from a backward (I mean it) culture in which people are judged by their skin culture, don't let others do your thinking for you. Embrace who you are. Don't risk your health & looks over this stuff. ...Read more

How is the skin prepped before a chemical peel? What is the process that a spa takes your skin through prior to a chemical peel in order to get it ready for the treatment? .

The : The skin is cleansed and de-oiled prior to any skin resurfacing procedure. Prior to procedures involving skin resurfacing i place patients on medication to prevent a herpes breakout, to increase the "turn over" process of skin cells (retin a) to promote healing, and to prevent pigment changes. Make sure that the procedure is being done by a trained medical person because skin resurfacing can lead to pigment changes and scaring if not done properly. ...Read more
