Milk: It is recommended to switch to whole milk at one year. The recommended amount is 2 cups a day (to provide adequate vitamin d) but not much more. Possible teething: She may be crying at night for another reason. At a year of age she is conceivably teething thereby giving her pain. My 1 year old sister has been having hard stool for almost a week. We gave her apple juice and tried to limit her intake of rice and milk. From there her stool went back to normal. I thought everything was fine so a day after I let her drink milk again. B
