They also have a cycle of breathing called periodic breathing where they breathe very fast then slow it down and can have an interval of up to 10-15 seconds of "holding their breath" then it starts over. Clarify question: Do you mean that she is congested, or that she had a study ( CT scan or MRI ) that showed " fluid in the sinus" (infants really don't have much in the way of sinuses anyway)? If congested for less than ten days, it is most likely just a cold, and there is nothing to do other than saline & suction nose if difficulty feeding ( too much can irritate). It might: Be irritating to your throat or lings if you are sensitive, but i doubt that, and there is no concern whatsoever for your baby. The only things that can reach your baby are things that enter your bllodstream, such as medications or harmful vapors. ...Read more
