The odds of this happening are extremely low, but yes it can occur.
Ovulation (fertile time) typically occurs around 14 days or so into a woman's cycle (for example if bleeding started on the 1st then ovulation would typically be the 14th, but could be a day or two before or after this)
here is an example of how pregnancy could occur in this situation: if her period was 7 days long and sex took place on day 8, considering sperm could live about 2-3 days, and if ovulation occurred earlier for some reason that month, there is a chance that pregnancy could occur. But as you see for this to happen a lot of "if's" have to occur.
Good luck and always remember condoms are very effective in preventing pregnancy. ...Read more

I'm 36 years old trying to get pregnant but I'm concerned about having a Down syndrome because of my age how at risk I will be if I conceived?
For giving birth:
To a child with DS your risk is 1:275. At 16 weeks gestation your risk of having a fetus with DS is 1:200. This is assuming there is no FH of Down Syndrome.
These numbers are approximations based on no other risk factors. They all, however, calculate your risk of having a child without DS at greater than 99 percent. ...Read more
What are the next steps to become pregnant if my wife has low egg supply? She hasn't been fullly tested for low egg supply, but I doubt she has a low supply since she's only 32 years old.
Depends on how bad: Some 32 year olds have low ovarian reserve or low egg supply, even some women in their 20's. Some have normal egg supply in their mid 30's or older. .. Everyone is different. Hello,: Hello, the effectiveness for condoms when used consistently and correctly is about 98%. However, often they are not used consistently or correctly. Warfarin is contraindicated in pregnancy. However, by age 46, a woman's chance of becoming pregnant is exceeding low. It would be quite rare for a woman to still have viable eggs by that age. Congratulations! ...Read more

I am 42 years old and have had my tubes banded for 12 years. Is it possible for me to have a reveral and have a baby? I want to know if I do become pregnant, what are the chances of complications of pregnancy or birth defects.
Good: Success of a tubal reversal depends on three things: age of the patient and at 42 you can still be ok, skill of the surgeon and length of tubal segments remaining. In my experience, the "bands" are the easiest to reverse and give you the best success rates. Ivf is also an option but generally is more expensive. In the right hands, complication rates are very low. Good luck. ...Read more

Grats: 'diminished ovarian reserve' is a useful but imprecise concept and there is no completely reliable way to put a number on someone's 'fertility potential.' d-o-r, like ovarian failure, not uncommonly presents as a 'transient' or 'intermittent' ovarian failure that rebounds. ...Read more
