Can A 16 Year Old Take Biotin
I have some 10, 000mcg biotin tablets which I bought is it okay to take them I am a 16 year old female.
Yes. However...: It is perfectly safe to take 10, 000 mcg of biotin. That sounds like a lot, but it is the same as 10 mg. There is no known toxicity of biotin but that's a much higher amount than most people need so I wonder why you want to take it. Biotin deficiency is rare. Those who are deficient may lose hair but if not deficient it doesn't help hair. High doses may help diabetes.See http://tinyurl. Com/p9rob63 ...Read more
Good afternoon Dr, I'm a 16 year old male (African American) & I bought some 5, 000 mcg biotin pills, & I'm asking how many should I take a day?
Vitamin supplements: The best way to quantify the amount of vitamins needed is to determine if there is a deficiency or if supplementation is to maintain normal values. 5000 mcg of biotin will be acceptable for your age if you are deficient of Biotin. As with all medications please discuss with your doctor before using the medication. Egg yolk & liver are good sources, raw egg white can deplete your stores. Take care. ...Read more

How much mcg of Biotin should a 15 year old take for hair loss. I've been losing a lot of hair & a dermatologist suggested to take biotin.?
Suggest you see: Your pediatrician, and have them Reglan (metoclopramide) hwork up your thyroid gland. You can take 2000 to 5000 µg a day of biotin no problem for hair thinning. However if you have excessive hair loss, you need to look at the cause of why this is happening, not just treat the symptoms. This could be related to stress, adrenals, or your thyroid gland. So talk to your doctor first before spending any money on biotin. ...Read more

Biotin is often recommended as a dietary supplement for strengthening hair and nails, though scientific data supporting this usage are weak. Nevertheless, biotin is found in many cosmetics and health products for the hair and skin.
While a true deficiency can cause hair loss, there is no evidence that the supplement will cause facial hair to grow. ...Read more
I am 24 year old guy suffering from hair loss. I've been on biotin and rogaine medication for about 2 years, haven't seen noticeable difference. Help!
Often fails: Biotin isn't going to help. If you have alopecia areata, nothing will help. This is probably too long for telogen effluvium. Especially if you're naturally blessed with a lot of great body hair and a thick beard, rogaine may not slow male pattern baldness. Shave your head, grow some great facial hair, hit the gym, and embrace your full masculinity. Nothing looks better than a buffed, balding man. ...Read more
