When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Probably not: these are multi ingredient drugs. The Tylenol (acetaminophen) in them is safe. The cough suppressant has never been studied in breastfeeding and should not be considered safe. The decongestant in there does not enter breastmilk very much and might be safe, but could decrease your milk supply. Also, Nyquil has a decent amount of alcohol, which may or may not be safe. Overall, I would stay away from them. ...Read more

Better options: Theraflu contains a variety of pharmaceuticals like acetominophen, antihistamines, cough suppressants & decongestants that may reduce symptoms but do nothing to actually help you heal. These can have unpleasant side effects. It also has artificial colors/sweeteners/flavors & preservatives. I would not take it during the first trimester, but most docs feel it is ok later in pregnancy. See my comments. ...Read more
What R U treating?: Oscillococcinum is a homeopathic preparation claimed to be made from the (non-existent) "oscillococcus" bacterium, which is marketed to relieve influenza-like symptoms. It is actually derived from duck liver &heart, diluted to 200C—a ratio of one part duck offal to 10400 parts water. Alka-Seltzer is a combo of sodium bicarbonate, aspirin, citric acid. Probably okay together, but what's your goal? ...Read more
Yes, but why?: Charcoal is not absorbed by your body and so should not cause problem for the pregnancy itself, but why you need to take charcoal? Did you ingest something--od on certain meds or chemical? Charcoal is often used to "bind up" other toxic chemicals and it is eliminated unchanged in the feces--it is not absorbed into your body. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
How Much Excedrin?: A more important issue is how ofter you take the excedrin. You may be causing rebound headaches which in many ways are more difficult to treat than migraine. Feverfew is a popular herb that seems to prevent migraine.I am not aware of any major interactions as does st. John's wort, for example. It is probably more important to limit your excedrin than worry about the feverfew interactions. ...Read more
