Lotion or surgery.: Corns and calluses occur because of pressure points. Surgery can fix this, but if you're not ready for that, trimming them down and regular use of lotion may soften them to the point they don't bother you. You can also try larger shoes that don't rub against the painful areas! Offloading orthotics can also help: see your podiatrist for casting. ...Read more

Phosphorus level 1.7, loss of feeling in tip if thumb and tingling in lower lip. Ok?

Discussion: Whenever I hear about feeling in the tip of the thumb, I think of carpal tunnel syndrome. It's common, it's often mild, it's easy to treat. Lip tingling is a tough symptom. It's usually not serious. Such a small area, it's hard for that to result from something serious.

Probably not: Unfortunately Nystatin has lost it's effectiveness against most of the fungi that cause ringworm and we've had to resort to more potent topicals, and/or oral meds. With a 7 month old it is crucial that you first arrive at the correct diagnosis. Why are you sure it's ringworm? If it is, Clotrimazole might work but shouldn't be used on babies for more than 3 days. See your pediatrician. ...Read more
