See Dr...: Either primary care or infectious disease (id). The er is not the place to go when you need specialized testing that takes several days to return a result (as the test you mention does). An id dr can also do a thorough exam and look / test for other problems. ...Read more

Needs controllers;: She does need an allergy work up;you should consult an allergist if not already done so far, but there is limited success with allrgy shots(immunotherapy) you need to treat asthma which is a chronic disease due to inflammation in bronchi. You have to discuss treatment options with your pediatrician including controller meds(inhaled steroids, singular, long acting bron/dilaters and relievers albuterol. ...Read more
