I have heat rash i went in to a medical walk in clinic & they told me to use hydrocotisone?

Helps Inflammation: Hydrocortisone can help calm down the associated inflammation--or angry red response the skin makes around the red spots. It will also help the itching you may have with your heat rash. Keep the skin cool and dry and avoid tight clothing; small amounts of the new cream applied will make healing faster though it won't keep away new spots so work on prevention as well. ...Read more

Walking (Definition)

Your doctor may also suggest a safe exercise plan. Walking is usually the easiest type of exercise, but swimming or other low-impact exercises can work just as well. Exercise is an important way to keep blood sugar in control, and physical activity in pregnancy has been found to decrease the risk ...Read more

I take levothyroxine 75mcg.....been on it for 25 yrs been out a week itll be another week before I can see a dr. should I go to a walk in clinic ?

No thyroxine: hello ~ that means you will be off thyroxine for 2 weeks. If you are in a city I would advise you to go to a walk in clinic to get your meds. If you were stuck in the middle of the Amazon jungle with no way of getting your meds, I'd tell you to relax and wait the 2 weeks warning that you may feel a little tired towards the end of the 2 week period. Dont sweat it ! thanks ...Read more

Can i get tested for bipolar disorder at a walk-in clinic?

Can i get tested for bipolar disorder at a walk-in clinic?

I doubt it: There may be more than one misunderstanding here. 1. There is not a "test" for bipolar. The diagnosis is made on a detailed history of mood episodes. 2. Walk-in clinics are not likely to have a psychiatrist or psychotherapist and while, unfortunately in my opinion, some gps do prescribe medications for mental disorders, it should not be done at a walk-in where they hardly know you at all. ...Read more

Will a walk in clinic with primary care services give anti-depressants?

Will a walk in clinic with primary care services give anti-depressants?

Not likely: Walk in clinics are generally set up to handle acute, "one time" episodes like strep throat, sinus infections, and utis as an example. Ideally, you want to find a good pcp or psychiatrist to spend the time with you to talk through your symptoms, possibly prescribe meds and be available for follow up. Check this app (healthtap) or healthgrades for a list of docs in your area. Take care. ...Read more

My 9 month baby has a rash on her chest should we take her to the walk in clinic ?

My 9 month baby has a rash on her chest should we take her to the walk in clinic ?

Depends: If your baby has a fever or is acting sick, she should be seen. If the rash is not bothering her and she doesn't have a fever it should be ok to wait. Howver, my general rule is that if you'll be up worrying tonight it's best to have your child seen. ...Read more
