May-Thurner syndrome: Absolutely. Get a left lower extremity ultrasound ASAP. Your doc may elect to get a D-dimer blood test as well. Have you been stented? Although MTS is associated with a small percentage of deep venous blood clots in the left leg (very rarely right) there is a significant rate of recurrence of DVTs in folks that have this condition. Don't sit on this. Seek further care. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more

Calf pain, 2 days, no swelling,no discoloration, not hot to touch. Been in a squat position a lot lately; Only left leg hurts. Not on birth control.

Calf pain, 2 days, no swelling,no discoloration, not hot to touch. Been in a squat position a lot lately; Only left leg hurts. Not on birth control.

Muscular pain: If you have been squatting a lot, you are using different muscle groups than you normally would use in your legs. That likely has strained them and is causing the pain. Stop squatting, rest leg s much as possible, ice area that hurts and take ibuprofen for pain and anti-inflammatory effect. If not better with those interventions in a week, see doc. If new symptoms, such as swelling, see doc sooner ...Read more

Left calf pain that comes and goes every few weeks. D Dimer was negative. Could I still have a clot possibly? No redness or swelling. Just pain.

Clot unlikely: A negative D dimer test is good at excluding blood clots. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If the pain has lasted more than a couple of weeks, you should consult a doctor. ...Read more

I am having calf pain that radiates from the top of my calf to the bottom. Maybe some swelling can't tell. Had d dimer done-negative. Could it be dvt?

Possibly : Although a neg d-dimer makes the likely hood of a DVT less likely it is possible. A duplex scan of the veins would diagnose a
dvt. There a lot of reasons for a leg pain like you describe. Arterial disease in a 21 y/o female would be very unlikely. ...Read more

No health insurance: Just because you don't have insurance doesn't mean you can't get healthcare. On my website (sorry, no way around that), i've listed a number of options for free (or at least low cost) health care, drugs ; tests. Or skip my site ; just search online for free healthcare. Lots of options are available to you. Walking won't make bruise worse. But do go see a doc if pain gets worse rather than better. ...Read more

Sciatica is herting my left hip .Pain is down the hole leg lots of pain in calf with some swelling.Im a large man 280pounds 6.3ft .I limp every where its killing me any thoughts?

Make sure: First you need to be evaluated that this is not a blood clot as calf swelling typically is not associated with a sciatica and a DVT or deep vein thrombosis or blood clot can mimic sciatic like symptoms including the pain with walking and a limp. Get checked now. ...Read more

Can I safely ignore unilateral calf pain (1 week+) with light bruising after normal D-Dimer or should I pursue an ultrasound? No heat or swelling.

NoRhymerForD-Dimer: What caused the pain? A strain or a contusion? Do you remember? A normal D-Dimer is reassuring, but no test is 100% accurate or test result 100% certain. There are certain risk factors I'm sure your doctor knows about (like smoking with birth control pills, certain blood clotting problems, etc etc). If that pain is still there in a week or so, especially if the calf swells, get it checked again! ...Read more

I have calf pain for 4 days. Its mild and only when I walk. No swelling or redness. I had a long distance travel. Ahould I be worried about blood clot?

Better safe than ...: I an not sure what is meant by "had a long distance travel". If it means that you have been walking a lot, then perhaps you have a sore tendons and calf muscle. In that case, time will heal the tissues. If you have calf pain and have not been walking, then you should have your leg evaluated by a doctor for an inflamed blood vessel or a possible clot. ...Read more

Sciatic like pain stiff sore knee.No visible redness/swelling.When to worry about fluid on knee or something bad?Just saw dr for calf pain.blood fine.

Don't worry: I would not worry so much as just that you might want to be seen for a specific diagnosis and treatment options. As you mentioned, it can be a variation of a sciatica, which is leg pain caused by an irritation if a nerve in the back; or it can be from something in the leg itself. A detailed exam and appropriate studies will likely yield the correct diagnosis. ...Read more
