Could my drug regimen of depakote, omeprazole, percocet, calcium, and vitamin d be causing constipation?
Too much calcium: I am not sure why you are taking so much calcium; it is not difficult to get adequate calcium from diet ; too much calcium increases risk of atherosclerosis. Also no need to take phosphorous. The vit d is fine- consider up to 8000 iu (check levels). Best to take with 1 mg vit k. Less D: As a male, you should be able to get sufficient calcium from your diet as long as you drink milk and eat dairy and veggies without problems. 2000 units of vitamin d3/day is all you really need, some will be in your diet. Low vitamin d: If you don't replenish your vitamin d it means that it will continue to be low unless you are exposed to sunlight and even then- I'm not sure if you will completely solve the problem.
