Fairly safe: Miacalcin is a medication that we have used for osteoporosis for years. It does ten TB fairly well tolerated but can cause nasal irritation and headaches. Very but it depends!: Miacalcin is fda-approved brand of nasal calcitonin used to treat osteoporosis (http://www.Pharma.Us.Novartis.Com/product/pi/pdf/miacalcin_nasal.Pdf). However, all medications, prescription & otc, as well as dietary supplements & herbs, have side effects. So only take medications, etc if potential benefit outweighs risk of side effects. Not the nasal spray.: Algodystrophy is sometimes treated with calcitonin (the drug in miacalcin). Research has shown that the nasal form does not work. It must be used as a daily injection.
