Lotion good for heat rash?

Lotion good for heat rash?

Keep cooler: Heat rash usually resolves in a few days unless you continue to sweat too much. So dress in cooler clothes or remove a layer of clothes, blankets, etc. Try not to use any topical creams or ointments that can also hold in heat. Keep cooler and the rash should go away on its own. Cool water will feel good on the rash. Solarcaine gel would help with comfort also. ...Read more

Can i apply aqueous calamine on my 1 year old baby when he gets urticaria or when he gets heat rash? Need him to stop scratching.

Not recommended: For itching from heat rash, the best thing to do is prevent it by keeping him cool and dry. Put him in light clothing and avoid overheating when possible (avoid car rides in the heat of the day ). For the urticaria, your doctor may be able to help figure out what is causing the hives. Calamine is not very helpful. For itching due to insect bites, i like caladryl clear best. ...Read more
