Folliculitis: It is likely a local spread of a staph or strep species that is causing you to have an outbreak. I have persistent sores on my buttocks and thighs. This has gone on for more than two years and is spreading to more parts of my body and worsening.
Hidradenitis: You may have boils (furunculosis) or hidradenitis suppurativa. Mrsa, a bacteria is also a possibility. You need to see a dermatologist for accurate diagnosis and to start treatment. Hidradenitis: I would speak to your doctor about your general health. Are you diabetic? Are you overweight? People with hidradenitis supurativa get "pimples" in their groin and buttock and it is not related to weight or diabetes. I find topical antibiotics and/or fruit acid treatments help.
