A gap in the wall of: your abdomen where the femoral artery and vein emerge and then enter the leg that is enlarging is a femoral hernia. They are not common but can cause the symptoms you describe. Low back pain can be muscular, spine or hip related or do to pelvic organ problems. A femoral hernia usually has a tender spot in the front of the hip... especially when coughing or bearing down. Nerve irritation: Anxiety can cause many physical symptoms, but specific pain and "electric shock" type pain sound more like your nerve is being irritated. The sciatic nerve does indeed innervate the leg, but does not necessarily have to cause pain all the way down the leg when irritated.
