Bursa Sac Ankle
What is the best and worse case scenerio for treatment & recovery time of a bursted bursa sac in an ankle.?
What is a burst ankle bursa and how does one determine if that is the problem and what is the proper treatment?
Ankle Bursa: A bursa is a fluid filled sac between tendon and bone that can act as a cushion, the "ankle bursa" is usually associated with the bursa sac near your achilles tendon/ heel cord. Having it "burst" could mean it ruptured or popped, and generally there is pain and swelling associated with this. Usually, the recommended treatment is antiinflammatory medication, rest, cut-out back of the shoe, pt.See 1 more doctor answer
In 4mo, bursa in 4 dif joints burst (L knee x1 L elbow x2, R elbow x1, R ankle 1x). 3 of these in past 3 days. No dx. Don't know what to do next.
Why would I have burning in my neck, thoracic spine, shoulders, knees, and bursa hip region? Sometimes I also feel tingling in arms and foot.
Bursa sac: Swelling of the bursa surrounding the knee which is called "prepatellar bursitis" can be addressed with serial ice applications over a towel that is placed on the knee for 10-15 minutes at a time. Avoid kneeling and hyperflexing of the knee and place a compressive bandage as an additional treatment.
Bursal injury: This is a type of injury that affects a specialized sac of fluid called a bursa. We have many all over our body, in the ankle they can occur in front of or behind the achilles tendon. They can also form in response to pressure to serve as a buffer against irritation. When injured they can be painful and inflamed feeling much like a deep bruise.
NOt really: Since it isn't so much a sac as a space surrounded by many muscles, the internal sides of which form the "bursa". If you removed them all you would have no motion in the shoulder! There are effective injections for "bursitis" in the shoulder, notably prolotherapy and (if needed) steroids.
Bursa: Ice and compression wrap. If recent surgery- should decrease over time.
Just burst a bursa sac. I've done it before so I know what it is should I sleep with the compression wrap on it?
Compress: For swelling a compress will help reduce the swelling along with elevation and ice.
I popped or maybe ruptured my bursa sac by getting hit by a pitch last night. I just need to know details of what that means?
Which one?: A bursa is a fluid filled sac that is for reducing pressure and wear on a joint. Did not say which one you struck. If it was already fluid filled then it may have been irritated. There is nothing to do now except wait and see the final result of what has happened. If it remains swollen then put ice on it for now and wait. See the ortho if followup if it remains swollen Best wishes.
Burst+bursa+sac+hipi have a burst trochanter bursa that is leaving a lot of fluid which is causing me acute pain. Any solutions?
Steroid injection: I would consider a greater trochanter bursa injection with a steroid if there are no reasons contraindicating it.
My right elbow bursa sac feels like it not there, it's sensitive when my elbow is placed on a surface, there was no specific injury that brought it on?
I think U mean @ --: - times U feel some pain when U lean on it. This is due 2 a tiny fold in the synovial lining of the bursa is pinched. U may even feel a little pop as this occurs. Happens 2 all @ 1 time or another. No need 2 worry unless it becomes swollen and painful. Then it's time for a visit 2 Ur ortho guy.
Several bursae: Usually we don't use destroyed for a bursal sac. They can become inflamed. There are several about the knee. The largest on is in front of the kneecap.See 1 more doctor answer
My son play high level hockey. His bursa sac was inflamed and he has been icing it. He just played a game and said the fluid is gone and his elbow hur?
Bursitis elbow: I assume you are talking about the bursa over the elbow which originally had fluid in it. After the hockey game it sounds like the bursa sac ruptured. This would give pain and inflammation. If the elbow moves well and the patient can do a push-up easily, the bursa simply released the fluid after trauma and the symptoms should go away quickly. X-ray if the pain will not allow a push-up
Bursa: Usually prepatellar bursitis is caused by direct or shear-type injury to area in front of kneecap. A pes anserine bursitis is ususally caused by activity with tight hamstrings that pull on this insertion site.
Need more info: First you should see an orthopedic surgeon for immediate care especially if your diagnosis is correct. Not following up with care can mean pain and maybe disability in the future/
What could be the cause for the pain in my knee? Seems like the bursa sac is scooting forward on me.
Multiple like arthr-: Itis, meniscal injury, being the common ones. The bursa is usually the result of one of these causes. Getting rid of the cause would treat the bursa as well. See an orthopod.See 1 more doctor answer
