Ice for 1st 2 days: In general, ice will help decrease swelling and pain for the first 2 days. Topical antibiotic ointment will prevent infection if blistering occurs. If just red like a sunburn, don't worry. If you have no sensation of the burn area, it may be a deep burn (deep enough to damage nerve endings). 1st degree burn: If you have had time to write on healthtap without blistering it is unlikely it will do so. It is unlikely to scar either even though mild a large hand burn should still be checked cool compresses or aveno should make it feel better take antiinflammatories like tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil to help w oth pain. ...Read more
