He could have diverticulosis (pockets in the intestine) and they may get obstructed and/or infected at times(more often left side). Possible stress?: When you say that your doctors do not see anything does that mean they have done endoscopies for the stomach and do not see ulcers? Have they done barium swallow's and not seen anything abnormal in the esophagus or elsewhere in the G.I. tract? Is there are no hiatal hernia on imaging exams or anything else?
