Usually tendinitis: 'burning' avbout the elbow w/out trauma is usually tendinitis.Occassionally the 'funny' bone(ulnar nerve)on the inside of the elbow can cause this as well esp if u get numbness or tingling in your pinkie and/or ring fingers.Try a NSAID for a week or two if no improvement see your orthopedic surgeon.Best of luck! ...Read more

Without knowing: Details about you as a patient its tough to give a definitive answer. The first thought that comes to my mind is neuropathy. If you have uncontrolled diabetes, then that would be one possible cause. The treatment would be aggresive blood sugar control and use of medications in the class of neurontin (gabapentin).
