Costochondritis: Hi!
there are several things that could cause similar symptoms. It could simply be inflammation of the skin (rash?) or of the cartiliage which joins the ribs to the sternum which is called costochondritis and sometimes responds well to Ibuprofen or anaprox (naproxen). If so, usually goes away on its own after awhile.
