Acid reflux is also a possibility despite taking tums (calcium carbonate). Young women who are smokers and are taking oral contraceptive pills are at risk for lung blood clot that can cause chest pain. Heart issues need always to be ruled out but are unlikely at your age. ...Read more

Worth looking into: Cardiac pain is less often right-sided. However, over the internet its tough to know for sure. Without knowing details of your recent cardiology exam it's hard to know how concerned to be. There are instances where a good cardiac check up did not reveal heart disease and yet it still be present. If this isn't rapidly clearing I'd get back in to see a physician pronto and have it re-analyzed. ...Read more
What would cause a dull burning pain on left side of chest above breast line and below collar bone? 20 minutes so far. Pcp says heart ok.
A couple of things: There are a few things that can cause that symptom. Regurgitation and reflux probably being one of the more common ones. If your PCP has ruled out the heart and there's nothing else except that prolonged burning then, I think it less likely cardiac. You may also have an entrapped nerve twig supplying the pectoral region or skin (perhaps trapped by the clavicle)...sensory neuropathy. ...Read more

Have it looked at: While a pulled pectoral muscle may cause pain and abnormal sensation, it's important to have it looked at to make sure it's not from an underlying cardiac condition. One differentiating factor is the muscle pain is oftentimes reproducible — if you push on it, it will hurt more — whereas cardiac pain may not be.
