Could be a disc: Burning in the back associated with leg symptoms is suggestive of nerve compression in the spine. Based upon your age this is most likely due to a disc bulge. Depends: If you are vegetarian......you have B12 deficiency related neuritis. If you had neck injury......can have entrapment neuropathy. These are long duration disease. If it is one sided and short duration it might be shingles. ...Read more

Shingles: There is a good possibility,,with that history than you have Herpes Zoster or "Shingles" This is due to re-activation of the Chicken Pox virus in a nerve (nerves) where it causes a tiny chicken pox like "bump" in the skin at the end of the nerve. Need more info: There may be something that is causing nerve irritation. That could be caused by improper posture, trauma (tight shoe?) jogging or running, lifting something heavy. The complaint is so diffuse that I would suggest that you make an appt with your primary care physician. ...Read more

May be nerve pain: Often a burning sensation indicates a nerve being pinched or trapped the location of the sensation suggests the possibility of a nerve from the lower part of the cervical spine being piched.
