I'm having a burning sensation at the back of my head. What is it? I have no medical history for this before or related to it.

Have someone look: It is either a skin (scalp) problem or muscle spasms such as neck. Have someone look and tell you if there's a rash or redness or hair loss. Otherwise pinch your shoulder and neck muscles to see if you get the same burning pain. In which case You could try acetaminophen or nonprescription analgesic.I don't think it would be a problem in the cranial bone or in the brain (in case you are wondering). ...Read more

Hi I have been getting a burning sensation in back of my head (brain) I also feel really run down and getting pins and needles in my arms and legs alot?

Impossible: You cannot get a burning sensation in your brain. Your brain is insensitive to all pain and other sensations. It senses sensations only in OTHER parts of the body. When you feel those sensations, you feel them in those other parts of the body, not the brain. Have you considered seeing a doctor about this? You folks have got National Health over there, right? Wish we had something like that here. ...Read more

Probably not: Fibromyalgia affects both right and left sides of the body, above and below the waist. There are several things that might cause your symptoms-e.g.-trigger points (painful bands inside the muscle), facet joint arthritis of the lower neck or upper back (especially if you were in an accident with a whiplash injury), disc tears, and subluxation of the joints between the rib and vertebrae. ...Read more

I've had migranes/headaches everyday for over a month. Now I'm starting to have a burning or numbing sensation in the back of my head. What is it? Help

ADisdainForMigraine: Migraine? How do you know? I'll just assume you have severe headaches for now. And you can develop "overflow" symptoms from them (e.g. stiff neck, tight muscles that squeeze the nerves in the back of your head, nausea, insomnia, etc etc etc). If the usual over-the-counter medications haven't helped or just help for a while, you need to see a doc. A month is a long time to suffer like that. ...Read more

Why do I get a burning sensation in my neck and in my back of my head?

Why do I get a burning sensation in my neck and in my back of my head?

Possible nerve: Irritation. While it could be just muscle spasms or irritation, the fact that it burns leading up to the back of your head, it may be nerve irritation, often including the greater occipital, lesser and third occipital nerves. You will need a physical exam to be sure, but try neck range of motion exercises, gently, until you see a doc. Safe exercises can be found at www. Spine-health. Com. ...Read more
