Neuropathy: Sounds like a nerve problem, so we'd call it neuropathy. It can be caused by anything damaging a nerve. Shingles or herpes can do this, but if it has been going on for 2 weeks I'd expect there to be spots or bumps or something showing on the skin by now. It can also be caused by your immune system attacking the nerve or by the nerve being pinched in your spine or elsewhere. See your doc for help. ...Read more

I have been experiencing itching without a rash followed by a burning sensation, crawling feeling underneath skin and small red bumps. Help please!

Red bumps: If the red bumps clear within a day, they may be hives caused by an allergic reaction to something internal(example=food) or external by something coming in contact with your body. If the bumps persist for a few days, insect bites could be the culprit. Taking antihistamine like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy) helps. See a dermatologist or allergist as needed. ...Read more

Anxiety vs....: Something! It is often hard to understand how feeling stress or anxious could cause skin symptoms such as these, but in a young person your age, that is the most likely cause. HOWEVER, the significant disease causes of this are in the connective tissue disease realm: lupus, scleroderma, dematomyositis, cryoglobulinemia, rheumatoid arthritis. Reduce stress, observe, see doc in 2 weeks if persists ...Read more

Nerve irritation?: Sounds like a nerve could be irritated. My main concern is if this could be an early sign of shingles. Sometimes there will be pain before the clustered blisters show up. Shingles affect a cutaneous nerve on one side of body, so pain and blisters usually extend from spine to midline on front of body. Any nerve, from head-to-toe col be affected. If blisters develop, I'd see a doc ASAP for antiviral ...Read more
