I workout at night and sometimes I wake up the next morning feeling nauseous and a burning sensation in between the middle of my chest, why is that??

Reflux: Could be acid reflux. Try to avoid eating anything (or drinking any protein shakes) 2 hours before bedtime. See if that helps, if not then see your doctor for further evaluation.

I've been taking celexa 20mg for 6 days and appear to be getting worse. I have a burning sensation in my chest at night and my hands are very shaky. I would like to stop using it. Do you think it will be ok after only a short period (6 days)?

Yes: celexa (citalopram) is relatively safe particularly with being on the lower dose of 20 mg and for such a short period of time. Depending on what you are taking it for and what you may have tried before, there are several alternatives you may wish to discuss with your doctor.

Lately at times I get a random burning sensation on my left side of chest. What could be reasons for this?

Burn pain: Your question raises more questions. Left side relates to chest wall lung lining, lung, esophagus or stomach. At your age nerve pain should be rare. However given all of the above more detail assessment is needed and evaluation with an internist is a good start.

I have this burning sensation in the middle of my chest and hurts every time I eat and swallow what could it be?

I have this burning sensation in the middle of my chest and hurts every time I eat and swallow what could it be?

Esophagitis: Burning in the center of your chest is "heartburn" = acid from the stomach coming up into the esophagus, which has no natural protection from stomach acid. Prolonged acid exposure can cause inflammation, ulcers, damage, scarring, narrowing, or even cancer (but unlikely at age 28). Do not ignore these symptoms, and see md soon! Good luck!

I have upperleft chest and back pain shortly after eating. It comes and goes. Sort of a burning sensation. No other symptoms. What could this be?

Pain: Upper chest and back pain intermittently recurring after eating suggests gastronesophageal reflux. Gastritis or stomach ulcer are considerations. This could be triggered by long term use of NSAID (ibuprofen). Other more serious conditions may present this way. It would be wise to see a physician to have a proper history and perform an examination to determine what testing might be necessary.

Diagnosed with costochondritis! Is it normal for the chest to be really sore from time to time along with a burning sensation?

Diagnosed with costochondritis! Is it normal for the chest to be really sore from time to time along with a burning sensation?

Yes: Costochondritis refers to an inflammatory condition that affects the ribs, at the junction where the bone portion of the rib articulates with the cartilage. People with costchondritis can have chest pain and tenderness. The use of antiinflammatories are usually among the first things done to treat the condition. Thank you for the question.

I get chest pains and at the same time a burning sensation between my shoulder blades I've got 2 dised disc in my neck but would this cause the chest pains?

I get chest pains and at the same time a burning sensation between my shoulder blades I've got 2 dised disc in my neck but would this cause the chest pains?

Possible Cardiac: Those symptoms, by themselves are classic symptoms of cardiac trouble, possible heart attack. The vertebrae in the cervical portion of your spine is a confounding variable; however, going to the er under the circumstances would not be a bad call. I would, at the very least, go to emergent care for ekg today. Do not wait until tomorrow. Better safe then sorry. I wish you the best!

Having burning sensation in my chest. Used proair that I got last time for bronchitis and it helps. Have I developed asthma at 45 years of age?

Having burning sensation in my chest. Used proair that I got last time for bronchitis and it helps. Have I developed asthma at 45 years of age?

PFTs may be ordered: Pro air relaxes the airway and relieves symptoms of asthma including shortness of breath, wheezing and chest tightness. Adults can develop asthma, but the burning sensation may be related to another condition. It is best to check with your doctor to evaluate. Pulmonary function testing or pfts may help to determine the cause.

After spirometry I coughed phlegm/ pecks of blood. Feel burning sensation in chest. No chest issues before-symptoms of collapsed lungs?

After spirometry I coughed phlegm/ pecks of blood. Feel burning sensation in chest. No chest issues before-symptoms of collapsed lungs?

Why the spirometry?: Please discuss these concerns with the physician who ordered spirometry. Spirometry may trigger coughing and labored breathing in patients that have active asthma but not in patients with controlled asthma or normal lungs. Spirometry does not cause collapsed lungs. Coughing up phlegm & blood are not symptoms of a collapsed lung. Something else is going on.

Chest pain on left breast & underneath. It feels sharp @times. Went to ER, X-ray & blood work is fine. Burning sensation @times. Is it gas or muscular?

SeveralPossibilities: ER rarely good place for good help. Why? 1st Med Sys not=health: http://goo. Gl/Blh6rW ERs have Hi law suit rates, focus=fast/defensive medicine; not problem solving/helping you better understand&troubleshoot as primary decision maker. Medicine=LowTech. Most problems=NOT revealed by exams, usual blood & Imaging tests; Why? Humans are far more complex than what any of these usually show. Go better.
