Not typical IBS...: What you describe sounds a bit like either a nerve issue (if the sensation is superficial and involves the skin). Get eval: 2 years is along time to be dealing with a burning pain in your abdominal area. See a dr and get some testing to determine what is causing your sensations. Diverticular disease is a possibility, but a good colon exam, including a screening scope can be diagnostic. If your colonoscopy is normal, than you can look at other possible causes. Possible PUD?: There are a lot of possibilities, but your description of burning stomach pain raises the probability of gastritis ; ulcers. Stop any non-prescribed nsaid's (aspiriin, advil, aleve, (naproxen) motrin, etc.) ; start an otc acid reducer (like Prilosec otc, Prevacid 24hr).
