I've been using. Aldara (imiquimod) for a plantar wart for a few days. I now have a burning sensation throughout my foot. Is that normal for aldara (imiquimod)?

No: That is not one of the reported side effects of aldara (imiquimod). However it's a good idea to speak to your doctor and possibly stop the medication as that may indeed be a reaction to the medicine. ...Read more

Tarsal tunnel: One possibility is that you might have tarsal tunnel syndrome. This a compression neuropathy similar to carpal tunnel syndrome in the hand. One has to see if there is any foot anatomic defect which is causing more pressure along that tibial nerve. I would recommend seeing a pmr doctor who specializes in this or a podiatrist. Treatment usually is reducing the swelling in the nerve: ice, elevating the foot, Motrin or even a steroid injection into the swollen nerve in the foot.
