Burning sensation inside my left foot for long?

Burning sensation inside my left foot for long?

Tarsal tunnel: One possibility is that you might have tarsal tunnel syndrome. This a compression neuropathy similar to carpal tunnel syndrome in the hand. One has to see if there is any foot anatomic defect which is causing more pressure along that tibial nerve. I would recommend seeing a pmr doctor who specializes in this or a podiatrist. Sometimes EMG testing is needed. Braces, cortisone injections are tx.

Burning sensation on outside of the top of my left foot. What could have caused this?

Bad shoes perhaps: Most likely your shoes could be compressing a sensory nerve near the ankle. Ah fashion! But you could also have a pinched nerve in your back (unlikely unless you have back pain radiating to your left side). Another possibility is peripheral neuropathy but you would probably have other areas of lower body numbness. See a podiatrist if this bothers you.

Radicular pain: Assuming that the pain is going down your entire leg into your foot is possible that the origin of both pains is the lumbar spine. It is also possible in patients who have sacroiliac joint dysfunction to have pain in the back that travels down the posterior aspect of the thigh sometimes to the foot but also wraps around into the groin area. You need to be evaluated.

I have a sprained ankle on my left foot. When I have pain, sometimes I have a burning pain. Same ankle was sprained, 20 yrs ago. Could it be broken?

I have a sprained ankle on my left foot. When I have pain, sometimes I have a burning pain. Same ankle was sprained, 20 yrs ago. Could it be broken?

Broken vs sprain: Sounds more like a sprain, broken bones are very painful and usually you will have difficulty putting full weight on that joint. I would ice the joint, elevate it when you are able to, to decrease swelling, rest it, and use as needed pain medications. Follow up with your doctor if it persists in it's pain that doesn't feel like a sprain, an x-ray is a quick diagnostic test for this.

My left foot shakes when I curl my toes. Last february I had a sharp burning pain around my ankle. That has cleared up but now my foot shakes.?

Nerve compression: You may have a compressed nerve in your ankle and foot. Soft tissues around the ankle can add pressure to a large nerve which can then cause twitching, burning and sharp shooting pains into your foot and toes.

I am not sure: What medication that is. The description fits the clinical picture of neuropathy. I am wondering why only the left hand and palm? The process in the feet and had may be different. Pease visit your pcp.
