Can acid reflux cause burning sensation in left shoulder and arm pit chest area. If I touch where it hurts it hurts worse?

Can acid reflux cause burning sensation in left shoulder and arm pit chest area. If I touch where it hurts it hurts worse?

No, this isn't GERD: This symptoms constellation is not consistent with reflux disease. It should be checked out just the same. The fact that the pain is worse when you touch the area suggests that it is either musculoskeletal or nerve pain. Is it related to meals? I'm wondering why you are associating this with reflux? The best way to approach this is to visit with your doc and have an exam done with some tests. ...Read more

My left shoulder hurts if I put pressure on it for more then 5 minutes, when I rotate it, it pops with what feels like a cool burning sensation why?

Snap Crackle Pop...: That sounds like an unstable shoulder joint and needs to be examined by a good shoulder doctor (orthopedist)
However, something like that just doesn't appear. Did you injure it? Exercise it a lot? If not, it would be unusual at your age to have an unstable shoulder. However, it CAN happen to anyone. The tendons, ligaments or cartilage may have worn down or torn, so go see someone about it. ...Read more

Inflammation: This discomfort may be referred from some inflammatory process in the shoulder joint or could be the result of pectoral muscle strain or low grade inflammation especially if there is associated tenderness. Avoid stressing the shoulder and rib cage to see if the discomfort resolves. If symptoms persist or worsen, see your physician who will be able to better localize the problem. Neurologic problem: Your symptoms sound like a cervical (neck) nerve root problem. A cervical radiculopathy often presents as neck pain with radiation into the upper extremity. It can be associated with pins and needles, numbness, pain, and/or weakness.

You would benefit from a medical consultation given your symptoms especially if they are persistent. Good luck to a quick recovery! ...Read more

Burning sensation on skin of upper arm/shoulder for 2 weeks, but nothing there, skin looks completely normal. No rashes or other symptoms. What is it?

Neuropathy: Sounds like a nerve problem, so we'd call it neuropathy. It can be caused by anything damaging a nerve. Shingles or herpes can do this, but if it has been going on for 2 weeks I'd expect there to be spots or bumps or something showing on the skin by now. It can also be caused by your immune system attacking the nerve or by the nerve being pinched in your spine or elsewhere. See your doc for help. ...Read more

What are the symptoms of cervical nerve impingement. Is it applicable to my condition since I have pain &cramps in neck&shoulder with burning sensation?

Possibly: Pain in shoulder which moves into the arm, especially down into the fingers is often related to a cervical nerve root. But if it's only in the upper arm there are other potential causes. Lung problems, anginal heart pain, liver or gallbladder problems can cause pain in the shoulder and upper arm. If you're having this much pain you should be evaluated. At least then you can be treated for the pain. ...Read more
