Orthopaedics eval: 31 year old gentleman with bilateral burning posterior knee pain, radiating pain from thigh to calf. You need a physical exam and evaluation from a specialist in orthopaedic surgery. Your physical exam will include a straight leg raising test to evaluate radiculopathy, pain along a spinal nerve from your spine which can radiate to the lower extremities. Imaging tests and other maneuvers will help.

See your pcp: 'burning' pain in the popliteal fossa (behind the knee) and when u stand up sounds like you've irritated your hamstrings. Possibly u strained them somehow w/o knowing about it. Also, popliteal cysts can cause this pain as well. These are seen commonly w/ knee problems like a cartilage tear. See your pcp and possibly referral to orthopedic surgeon. Best of luck!

Unlikely: Although it is possible to be a dvt, the us would tell for sure. It is most likely a popliteal cyst commonly called a bakers cyst. They do sometimes cause symptoms like you describe. An orthopedist can treat this for you.See 1 more doctor answer
