I try using a pillow to raise the back of my sore heel but it still doesn't stop the burning pain. I wonder if Achilles tendon is involved. Walk OK.

I try using a pillow to raise the back of my sore heel but it still doesn't stop the burning pain. I wonder if Achilles tendon is involved. Walk OK.

Good question: Achilles tendonopathy tends to produce an enlarged, tender tendon (particularly sore when squeezed). Also, small nerve branches supplying the heel can become irritated to cause a burning pain. One question: why are you taking clonazepam? Underlying disorder? See your doctor for exam. Details of the physical should help diagnosis, and this will help treatment. ...Read more

Heel pain: The two leading causes of pain in the heel area are either achille's tendonitis (this pain is usually clearly located above the heel bone and directly over the tendon as it inserts into the heel bone) and plantar fasciitis with or without a heel spur (this pain is usually felt just below the heel bone itself and slightly anterior to it (the plantar fascia). ...Read more

Injury: I am a runner and had a similar problem for a length of time. You might have to incorporate some type of stretching. I would possibly first see a dr. And find out if the tendon is just strained or torn. Then, you might need some type of physical therapy, icing, heat, or even possibly ultrasound therapy. But need to be checked first! ...Read more

I'm having a burning sensation in the tendons located behind my knee. It hurts when i stand and feel as if they will cramp up.

See your pcp: 'burning' pain in the popliteal fossa( behind the knee) and when u stand up sounds like you've irritated your hamstrings.Possibly u strained them somehow w/o knowing about it. Also, popliteal cysts can cause this pain as well. These are seen commonly w/ knee problems like a cartilage tear. See your pcp and possibly referral to orthopedic surgeon. Best of luck! ...Read more

Feel a tendon or something moving side to side in base of big toe. Pain and sometimes burning sensation when walking was after slamming side of foot?

Walk this Way.: There are quite a few structures that have the ability to move side to side, associated with the base of the big toe. A slamming injury could injure any one or more of them effecting the stability of the toe and toe joint. Pain and burning are the body's way of letting you know this. It is best to have the toe examined and possibly x-rayed to remove all doubt. ...Read more

In ballet class, I experienced a popping sound and painless sensation in the area of my left Achilles tendon. What could this be?

Sprain vs. tear: It would be best to see a Podiatrist for a quick evaluation and diagnosis as this could be a sprain or represent a small tear. additional possibilities include tendonitis or even an impingement syndrome. With an accurate diagnosis your MD can determine if stretching, an anti-inflammatory, rest/ice/massage or some time with a Physical therapist is the next step. Keep me posted if you can. ...Read more
