Burning in chest (not pains) no reflux and my heart beats faster when I get this burning sensation. What could it be. Comes and goes.?

Often GI: This sounds like a gastrointestinal issue. This pain associated with shortness of breath, profuse sweating, dizziness, etc. Would be concerning for a heart attack. It would be unusual, however the heart rate you describe might be an irregular heart rhythm triggering the chest discomfort. Talk with you doctor about an evaluation with a GI specialist and possibly a heart monitor. ...Read more

Persistent tightness in my chest with partial discomfort & experiencing slight burning sensation. Could this be reflux related or heart. Non-smoker 24yo?

Doctor can evaluate: If it is reflux (heartburn), one can try antacids like Maalox, Mylanta, or Tums. There are also acid-blocking medications like Pepcid (famotidine). But, such symptoms may be other things instead of simple reflux. The patient could have esophagitis, H. pylori infection, heart or lung disease, anxiety, etc... It's best to have a doctor evaluate, and if it's only heartburn, the doctor can offer acid blockers. ...Read more

Persistent tight chest coupled with partial discomfort and burning sensation. Could this be reflux related or heart. Looking for second opinions! 24yo?

Low risk: At age 24 you are at lower risk for heart-related disease. That being said, it is always advisable to have a complete evaluation done any time you have chest pain to be sure your heart function is completely normal. GERD can certainly cause the symptoms you describe but I would go to an urgent care or your doctor to be sure that is what you are dealing with. ...Read more

I've had pressure/ discomfort in my chest for 2 days now. Burning sensation and pain in my right breast. Could it be heart related?

Burning sensation in upper abd. And sometimes chest with certain foods (ie. Tea or tim hortons breakfast wrap). My dr thinks it heart burn. Right?

More than likely: Your doctor is probably correct. Heartburn can be caused by different things for different people. Heartburn is the reflux of caustic gastric juice back up to the esophagus. How far this juice refluxes often determines what symptoms are produced. You can alleviate the pain by watching what you eat and when you eat it. Spend time with your doctor and get answers to all the questions you may have. ...Read more

I have a burning sensation in chest right below left breast comes and goes I have no heart problems except heart murmur whar could cause this?

Costochondritis: Hi!
there are several things that could cause similar symptoms. It could simply be inflammation of the skin (rash?) or of the cartiliage which joins the ribs to the sternum which is called costochondritis and sometimes responds well to Ibuprofen or anaprox (naproxen). If so, usually goes away on its own after awhile.
Good luck!

I keep getting a weird tingly burning sensation at the tops of both breasts. Not pain, discomfort. Doc says heart ok. Upper back pain. Anxiety. Ideas?

Probably ok: Your symptoms are unusual because there is tingling on both sides. If it was a stroke or a tumor, it would only be on one side of the body, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. It could be from anxiety, but that's an unusual way for it to present. There is a condition called myelitis, inflammation of the spinal cord, that could cause this. Ask your doctor to evaluate you with this in mind. ...Read more

What is the relationship between burning sensation of toes fingers and ischemic heart disease?

What is the relationship between burning sensation of toes fingers and ischemic heart disease?

Not aware of any: "burning" is a symptom most commonly associated with a nerve. Carpal and tarsal tunnel (nerve compression), neuritis (inflammation) and some metabolic diseases (like diabetes and anemia) can also produce a burning feeling.

The most I can think of is angina can sometimes cause the left arm and fingers to tingle or even burn. It certainly would have no affect on the toes, though. ...Read more

Should I be concerned if I am hearing popping noises by heart? I also have burning sensation on chest, arms, pins and needles, muscle loss,

Burning sensation: Yes, this is something to be concerned about. I can't speak to the "popping" noises that you are having, but the numbness/tingling/burning most likely is due to nerve compression at a high thoracic spine level. You need to see a physician and have an MRI ordered to evaluate if you have cord compression from a disc herniation or some other secondary cause. ...Read more

Could trapped gas/bloating cause a burning sensation at the muscular level on left chest and inside party of left bicep? I got scared of heart attack

Go to ER: The symptoms you have listed could be trapped gas orAngina symptoms. This means that one of your coronary arteries (blood vessels to your heart) could potentially be blocked and affect the blood flow to your heart. It could result in you having a heart attack anytime. There could be other less alarming causes for these symptoms but you cannot take a risk and must go to ER without delay ...Read more
