I have a burning sensation in my ankles. No swelling or anything like that but about a 7 out of 10 pain.

Possibilities: Hard to tell without more of a history and examination. May need more support in form of more supportive shoes and inserts. Sounds like there may be nerve impingement.

Need more info: Are there any changes in the skin? Are you able to move your ankle without pain? Are there any other symptoms? You may wish to just watch and wait, as it does not appear to be a pressing issue. Try using cold or warm compress and see if either one helps. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.

In the first: 24-48 hours ice will help limit the amount of swelling. After that hot compresses will help break up the blood composing the hematoma. Antiinflammatories can be helpful as well.
