Burning Scalp With Bumps
I shaved my head with clippers a few days ago and my scalp is burning and itching. I have razor bumps and burn on my scalp. How do I fix this?
Scalp rash: It could be irritation by the clippers themselves which would be more of an allergic rash or it could be an infection. I cannot exclude a fungal infection as well. Tonight my scalp suddenly became oily, itchy, burning, flakes, and red bumps. It happened very fast but nothing was near my hair today. Any ideas?
Look at history: You may have symptoms of burning itching, flakes, oily, red bumps today, but it may have been as a result of something that you've been using on your scalp recently. So a good history of the products you have used on your scalp for conditioning, shampoo, coloring, oil treatments can cause a dermatitis to show up. My scalp randomly started burning. Red bumps appeared in the area. It's extremely tender. Now I have a headache, w/numbness in the area of the bumps.
You may have SHINGLES!!!
You need a diagnosis ASAP since there is effective antiviral treatment when you TREAT EARLY!

Cysts/acne necrotica: It's difficult to tell you exactly what this is without examining you, but if what you have are marble size or larger moveable knots in the deeper subcutaneous tissue, I favor pilar cysts. The only treatment for these is surgical excision. On the other hand, if it's small pimples in the hair follicles I favor a rash like condition such as acne necrotica or lichen planopilaris.
