Muscle Strain: There is not much in that area. You could have a muscle strain. Sometimes shingles can present as a burning sensation but usually has a band of redness associated with it. Hello sir, I have burning sensation in my left rib cage whenever I sit for long. Also, it goes away when I straighten up. Also, what is a remedy for it?
Diagnosis: It would require a specific diagnosis, I would not hesitate to be seen. Typical causes would include abnormalities in one of the structures of the left upper quadrant such as the lung, stomach and pancreas, or an irritation of a nerve in your thoracic spine. Consider being seen for an accurate diagnosis.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a burning pain that has went from my right side to my left side, under rib cage. I recently had to lift a pt in and out of bed. Siatica?
Muscle strain: Sounds like a muscle strain. Lifting patients alone in and out of bed can be difficult and can cause injury to you if you are not lifting correctly or lifting too heavy a weight. Seek evaluation from your medical provider. You can also try taking ibuprofen to see if the pain resolves or changed. Sciatica is pain that runs down the legs caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve.

Neuropathy: Localized sensation of skin burning most likely is secondary to compression or irritation of a local nerve that provides sensation to the area of skin affected. Sharp, burning pain left flank side near rib cage, can't take deep breaths, also burns towards my lower back...! any idea's?
Neurocostal: Sharp ; burning pain seems neuropathic and radiation pattern around flank of lower chest suggests neural impingement at costal vertebral junction. Inspiration ; costal lift would be expected to intensify this pain. Perhaps a rib-vertebra subluxation is at play. Absence of cough, fever, ; shortness of breath discount pneumothorax ; infection. Pleurisy certainly a concern. Doctor's exam a must.See 1 more doctor answer
