Been having epigastric pain for 5 mo. Last week or so been noticing sharp pain in my mid back and also sharp pain under left shoulder blade. Related?
Possibly: You may be having pain from gallstones. If the epigastric pain is on the right where the gallbladder is located, this could be related to gallstones. Occasionally, patients have referred pain to the area between the shoulder blades. It is more common to have pain under the right shoulder blade than the left. You can have your doctor check for gallstones with an ultrasound. ...Read more
I had stabbing off and on side pain in urq for three months, sometimes in lrq and llq. Also past 12+ hours, stabbing back pain in urq. Whatcould itbe?
See professionals...: The described pain at RUQ leads to consider gall bladder stone, or kidney stone, or intermittent obstruction of ureter, or spinal nerve irritation. But for what you stated, it would be most reasonable to see, talk, and work with a professional to figure out what is the matter in you. Best luck... ...Read more

A gallbladder problem can cause pain radiating into the right side as can a lung and kidney problem. A detailed exam and appropriate studies can usually tell the cause. Consider being checked. Back : Back pain may be caused by bone, disk, muscle, joint, ligament, nerve, spinal cord and other organ systems. Some people have severe back pain with minimal changes on MRI while other patients have severe changes on MRI without any back pain. Therefore there is poor correlation between MRI and pain. The steroids help reduce inflammation but do not usually make quick structural changes you would see on spine mri. I would recommend seeing an interventional pain doctor for considering steroid injections. Good luck! ...Read more
