May not be hip.: This can happen but is unusual. Hip pain usually is most pronounced in the groin and radiates down towards the knee. It is rare to have it radiate up to the abdomen. Pinched nerve: This sounds like a pinched nerve in your spine. Without a neurology exam, I can't tell you which nerve root, but almost certainly it is in the lumbar spine.
