Overuse: The simplest answer is that you may have overdone it and are just very sore! Lactic acid buildup is what causes muscle soreness, and as you continue to exercise the muscles will better manage it so you don't feel like this every time you exercise. Although painful right now, gentle stretching can help alleviate the sore burning sensation, as will time. Don't get discouraged; keep exercising! ...Read more

Does a herniation cause you not to be able to sit at all or lay on your back . Burning pain and pain in other parts like hips, groin, sensitive thighs?

Possibly: It does sound like you might be very sensitive and/or that it might be a major tear. Seek advice from your Dr re possible corrective surgery and perhaps a good PT program once the healing can tolerate strengthening. Try to be patient. Try to find cold/heat/support solutions to pain to avoid opioid risks - but some safe pain meds might help. ...Read more

Is there any reason i would get thigh burning pain at the same time my upper back pain flares up ? Both burning/prickly sensation. Very odd.

Yes: Neuropathic pain....Secondary to lumbar area disc / foraminal stenosis. See your pmd. Can be other more serious condition because of unusual disease. Simple vit B12 deficiency possible. ...Read more

A thought: More can be determined from physical exam and imaging, but I might start by ruling out degenerative spine disease, spinal stenosis or spondylolysthesis (or some combination thereof). The butt cheek/outer thigh involvement is suspicious for nerve entrapment (which would be worsened with upright exercise). ...Read more
