Heard of Compo????: Well it's serious enough to cause you pain. Left untreated, it could cause further problem by causing you to compensate for the burning pain you are now having. Burning Pain from foot bridge to thigh whole leg pain is on the inside, feels like on the bone not skin or muscle. Pain scale is 8. Lower bck pain too?

Lumbar radiculopathy: likely lumbar radicular pain. quick onset, burning, sharp, shooting pain like this is probably from nerve impingement from your spine, given your age - likely a disk. see your PCP for a referral for pain medicine eval, they may get an MRI to see and you may be a candidate for an ESI in addition to anti-inflammatory meds (tylenol, NSAIDs), PT and meds like gabapentin/lyrica for nerve related pain. ...Read more

The ER: Can't help with a thyroid nodule. A lower leg (calf?) boil is unlikely to cause thigh discomfort in the absence of extensive soft tissue infection which would cause skin redness, pain, and fever.
