I'm getting severe burning pain behind my belly button but it's coming from a shooting pain I'm getting like a period pain I have a coil fitted help?

Get checked: Abdominal pain requires evaluation under the circumstance of having a coil in place. Sometimes a coil or IUD can migrate and cause damage to internal structures. Just the presence of a coil can cause pain in some women, especially in the first few months, but sharp pain is cause for concern. The coil may be the source of the pain, but many other things can cause such pain. Get checked.

My friend has a burning sensation to the left of belly button. Any ideas what could be causing that?

Needs an exam: Needs to have a physical exam with a doctor to see what is causing pain near the umbilicus. I cannot tell without an exam. Could be muscle strain, could be hernia, etc.

I have A burning sensation inside my belly button and it hurts when I touch it?

I have A burning sensation inside my belly button and it hurts when I touch it?

Interesting: That is an unusual situation. The belly button can accumulate debris/sweat and may have developed an irritation. There are some oily glands there. Clean well with mild soap/water. If redness apply a little bit of neosporin with a qtip. If not better in AM or worsens rapidly see MD to make sure not an infection. If you have a piercing nearby may be having reaction to nickel in metal.

Burning sensation just three inches below belly button, two medical centers can't find anything! What is it! Please help. Thanx

Seems to be pain.: Sometimes we can't find a specific diagnosis other than pain. If you have been seen at two medical centers I am not sure you will find a better diagnosis on line. This sounds as though it is neuropathic pain. When will they move on to treatment?

I'm just curious if a delayed kind of intense burning sensation in the belly button after cleaning it for the first time in awhile is normal?

What cleanser?: Skin inside a belly button is sensitive. Some cleansers are harsh, and can cause local irritation. Plain Vaseline jelly, or over-the counter cortisone cream for a few days can calm this down. If irritation persists, it should be checked by a MD for a yeast infection.

Is burning sensation 1 in above belly button a symptom of ibs?

Is burning sensation 1 in above belly button a symptom of ibs?

Sure, but...: Irritable bowel syndrome (ibs) is a condition associated w/ abdominal discomfort, altered /alternating stool pattern, accompanying nausea, bloating, gassiness. Often improved by stooling, ibs is defined by changes in perception of gut distension, motility, sensation. Diet & emotional stress play significant roles here in such patients. Need to rule out first inflammation, ischemia, & infection.

I'm 19 weeks & 3 days pregnant. I'm having a burning sensation near my belly button. Is this normal?

Belly button: It is important to remember that your belly button is not related to your current pregnancy. When you were a baby your umbilical cord was attached to your placenta. Your babies umbilical cord is attached to its belly button. Your belly button is not involved. Umbilical hernias can occur during pregnancy. If you see or feel a bulge around your belly button have your obgyn check it out.

My belly buttons feels very cold and almost like a slight burning sensation. It doesn't spread anywhere else on my stomach just around my belly button?

My belly buttons feels very cold and almost like a slight burning sensation. It doesn't spread anywhere else on my stomach just around my belly button?

Cold, burning: Frequently there is slight inflammation of the umbilical and I would check for mild redness or slight odor in the area. If none is present, perhaps there is some minor irritability of the superficial nerves around the umbilical area. In any event it doesn't appear to be a significant problem. Keep the umbilicus clean and dry.

I got hit in the stomach & every time I touch on the right next to my belly button it hurts but only if I touch it & move. It's a sharp burning pain?

Bruised muscle?: If any doubt that what you're experiencing is a bruised abdominal wall muscle from local trauma, then seek professional evaluation.

I have a weird burning sensation in my belly button but after a while it travels down into my penis and it's really uncomfortable it's happened years?

Urachal cyst?: Yes, there is a connection between belly button and bladder and urethra (penis). The belly button is connected to bladder with a tube called urachus. After birth it closes and shrinks, but sometime it may not completely close down and leave some parts which will be called urachal cyst. Sometime there is naval discharge not always. Please see a urologist and discuss these things which I mentioned
