Yes: Permanent destruction of the nerves will be of no value if the temporary suppression with injection was not successful. Injections with alcohol, sectioning, and burning all destroy the nerves. Unfortunately, the nerve stubs can still register pain and cause even worse pain then when they were intact.

Nerve (Definition)

The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). What causes burning of the nerves in the thoracic spine?

What causes burning of the nerves in the thoracic spine?

Thoracic spine: This may be caused from a pinched nerve in the t spine which may cause burning pain. Or, it may also be unrelated to the spine. A thorough work up, including exam, imaging and review of your entire history is critical to get down to the bottom of the root cause. You should speak to your regular doc first - he/she should begin the work up. A disc herniation pinching the nerve should be ruled out.

Why did you have it?: What was the reason for the surgery? Could you have impingement on an intercostal nerve? Yes. If so, response depends on the background situation. If you don't have pain proneness and no other background pain syndromes then injection of an impinged intercostal nerve can be helpful. Was the background problem something that could be progressive? Do you need re-eval for that?

I have a burning in my arm above the elbow and now my arm is felling num. The burning is just below the shoulder to the back of the arm could this be a pinch nerve.

The: The problem may be spasm in the teres muscle that runs across the shoulder blade to the armpit. When you develop a trigger point there it may radiate down the back of the arm in radial nerve distribution because the radial nerve enters the arm at the point of attachment. What people refer to as "pinched nerves" in the shoulder area are often trigger points. These are relieved by deep massage, stretching or trigger point injection with lidocaine.

Ever since I got shots in my back a couple days after I start feeling burning in the bottom of my foot. Could it be nerve damage?

Contact doctor: Back injections can temporarily help some conditions, but may make others transiently worse. Since I know little about your particulars, propose contacting the injecting doctor. Two possibilities: your back problem is getting worse, or shot caused some local inflammation, radiating to foot. Yet, cannot exclude local foot problem, so, get examined.

I have weakness to my 6th nerve muscle and the past week I've had burning sensation on top and back of head. Can this be related?

May or may not: Main issue is the cause of your Abducens palsy, and if you have inflammatory disorder of meninges due to any cause, the burning could be associated due to involvement of trigeminal or greater occipital nerves. If your N VI issue is congenital or post-traumatic, then there is NO relationship.

I have a constant pain in my inner right shoulder blade. Sometimes it's a burning sensation. Gets worse during stress. Is it a knot or pinched nerve?

Multiple Things: Many sources can result in referred pain to the shoulder blade. Along with the neurogenic sources like cervical (c6 for example) and the suprascapular nerve, we also see many patients with occult shoulder pathology have referred pain to this area. Patients who are very flexible can also have occult shoulder instability refer pain to this area. Please consider seeing your doctor.
