How old are you?: If you are in late forties, I would say this could be from Menopausal symptoms. Do you have Diabetes? Neuropathy: Since affecting the hands and the feet i would look to see if you have any back pain as a proximal source. There are other causes of neuropathy and a physical by your internsit is recommended. Acrodynia: The best sense i can make out of the symptoms you report is a rare condition called "acrodynia" (which means painful hands & feet). This is usually due to heavy metal poisoning like from mercury, etc. Otherwise you may have a painful peripheral neuropathy, which can be due to something like a cyst in the spinal cord or from unknown causes. Stop!: Sensations may change as a result of 'pinched nerves' but it's not likely that this would be the only or main symptom. Certainly, don't catastrophize to even worse!! If you are right-handed and the variance is not extreme - you might just be more tuned-in to that hand's signals. Not clear: Several causes are possible: wrist arthritis, irritated skin (allergy, chemicals), nerve problems. Nerve problems only involving the top of the hand is extremely unlikely. Possible Hypothyroid: In general, symptoms of sluggishness, low energy and weight gain are commonly associated with a low functioning thyroid gland, a condition called hypothyroidism. Seems OK.: Hcl usually gives symptoms right away. Feels just like a burn. If you have not had any significant symptoms by several hours after the lab you will be fine. Could there have been an organic contact or perhaps irritation by nitrile? ...Read more

Raynaud's Phenom?: What you're describing sounds a little like Raynaud's Phenomenon - a blood vessel disorder that causes your fingers and toes to become red, then often pale, and sometimes blue as the blood flow becomes interrupted. Sounds worrisome: though autoimmune disorders as well as any skin rash could cause such symptoms. Of course I'm guessing you have ruled out sun burn as a cause?
