I have burning feeling in my upper leg which only last few minutes come and goes all the time, only started about three days ago. I.M in good health?
Leg: There is condition called meralgia paresthetica which involves femoral nerve which is above sciatic nerve from upper lumbar region. Nerves can be impinged or crowded as they exit spinal cord or in this case upper thigh as it exits groin area. May be related to excess use upper front thigh muscles. Mri shows no disc problems. Can upper back muscles nerves cause pain in this area and refer to upper leg. Burning/prickling. Not sharp pain.
Need more info: What level of spine was the mri--cervical, thoracic or lumbar? What neurological exam findings do you have? How did you injure your back, was it one acute accident or years of wear & tear?
