Epigastric pain: This area can be the result of stomach issues like ulcer disease, possibly gallbladder issues or other upper abdomen diagnoses. See your primary doctor. He/she will want to know if the pain is related to eating (better or worse), if you significant amounts of alcohol or what the pain is.. Try lansoprazole: Sounds like it could be a peptic ulcer developing. It could be a few other things, but upper GI ulcer, or barrette's (sp?) esophagus is probably most common. Other things are possible depending on your demographics, history, etc. Try taking a medication for stomach acid, anything over the counter should due. You should also be tested for h. Could it be stress?: When taken together, globus sensation ("feeling of a lump"), air swallowing with resulting belching, & dry mouth/ throat are most consistent with stress/anxiety. So can be your "gurgling noises & pinching (poorly localized as described)." Managing your stress (& reasons for same) may be your key to relief. Depends: I would like to know where the pain starts. If it originates at the buttock it is possible that the problem could be coming from the back despite not having back pain. My advice would be to get an EMG to rule out a radiculopathy, consider imaging of L-spine and Right Hip, and based on these results decide further tx.
