I feel a pain and burning in the back, just above the buttocks, which can be? It appears when I'm sitting much.
This sounds like: "nerve" pain...you could have early "shingles"...is there a rash?? the pain often comes before the rash..or a nerve may be pinched in your lower spine (L5-S1) Apply ICE/HEAT (which ever helps most or "alternating") Contact your PCP for an examination as soon as practicable! Friction irritation: This does happen to some people. If it only happens after you have walked quite a bit, then it may be friction irritation. Are you carrying extra weight? Baby products: Soothing baby products (diaper rash) should be mild and safe. Avoid products that might further irritate. Avoid binding clothes - try loose and soft sweat pant-type items. Need more info: Back pain is multifactorial. More historical information, examination & possible lab/radiographic studies are needed to really nail down the cause.
